Volunteer for our Water Sampling Program
Join our Citizen Water Monitoring Network (CWMN) and become a member of the water sampling team!
Water sampling takes place six times a year, from May to October. Each volunteer gets a specific site or sites where they take water samples, between 6 am and 7:30 am. The samples then need to be dropped off at one of our four area drop-off locations.
Sampling usually takes 15-20 minutes from the time the volunteer gets to the site to the time they depart for the drop-off location. Once at the drop-off location, the volunteer hands off the samples to the drop-off coordinator and fills out some simple paperwork.
To become a regular CWMN volunteer (or an emergency contact on-call volunteer), contact Environmental Fellow, Andres Ripley, 781-575-0354 x306 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Regular volunteers need to attend a training session and commit to testing an assigned site. Emergency contact volunteers need to attend training and be ready to help when contacted.
